DisneyWorld Anyone?

Not for me! But I am looking for a good fill Dr in the Orlando area. Anyone but Dr. Beltre in Altamonte Springs! I have Medicare now due to a disability and my former Dr. does not take it anymore. I thank you in advance on any help that may come my way!:)

Try checking www.lapband.com for a list of local surgeons. Call until you find one, I know there are several great surgeons there, as we have several very happy bandsters here from those areas. Look in the Florida page for local members. ~Mandy

I live in Casselberry and will be going to Fill Centers USA in Tampa to get my fills. You might want to also check with Keith Kim's office in Celebration for fills.

I live in Longwood and use Dr. Beltre. I notice you said anyone BUT Dr. Beltre...have you used him before? Problems?

I have been using him for quite awhile now and I like him very much. But, I'm curious as to why you don't want to have him do your fills.

Ginger,

Dr. Beltre didn't have any problems providing you with fills even though you had your surgery in Mexico? If so, that is great news. I would rather not have to drive all the way to Tampa to get mine!

Would you mind telling me how much he charges and whether they do it under fluroscopy? Thanks for your help!

Congrats on your success!

Sara...Dr. Beltre was happy to do my follow up care, even though I had my surgery in Mexico!!! He does not do fills under fluoro, but he is pretty good at doing them without.

You should probably call his office just to verify that his rates haven't changed, but I believe he charges $500.00 initial visit (includes fill) and then $100.00 for every fill thereafter.

His office is VERY busy..so be prepared to wait for a while when you get there (I'm never there more than an hour though).

I like him very much. He is kind, gentle and will take the time to talk to you...not in a hurry like most doctors, to get you in and out.

The best part is that his is less than one mile from my office...beats Tampa or Celebration anyday.

Good luck

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
