Ok August pst ops you are awfully quiet. Let us know how you're doing. I'll start by saying I feel lighter when I walk. I don't breathe heavy anymore. I don't snore loud when I sleep and I'm feeling sexier everyday! People are noticing my weightloss and asking questions. I'm now wearing clothes it of my closet that I haven't been able to wear in over 3 years. How r u doing?

That its great!! How much have you lost?

I ask finally feeling like my old self, with all the other aches n pains popping up. Ugh. Ooh well.. I am also wearing clothes back in my closet. I'm not feeling the sexy yet. Lol.

I've lost 39lb. I haven't lost any wt. Since last Friday but I am doing Water arobics 3-4x a week. I'm glad for the wt. I've lost but my dr. is not gonna be pleased. He wants 4lb a week gone. And that's not happening. I'm eating 550, to 650 calories a day, does anyone else eat this much?? I hope i'm not over eating.

Still struggling with my Protein. Joined a gym last week so am feeling good about that. I have been starting to feel hunger lately. I was hoping that would never come back. So far I am down 37 since surgery and 64 since the start of my journey.

Vicki...do you think it's just slower because you had the revision? I think you are doing great.

Surgery Aug. 6. So far I have tolerated everything I have eaten. I do Zumba 2-3 times a week plus weights 2 -3 times a week. People are really noticing my weight loss. Especially the ladies in my Zumba class. I wear size 12-14 Danskin pants and they look good. I have lost about 30# since surgery. 217# day of surgery, now 187#. Sz 14 pants are getting loose in legs and butt. My waist is still big :( so pants are tight in waist. Overall I feel great and am glad I took 6 months to prepare my body for the surgery.

Doing well except for the Constipation. Last I checked I had lost 25lbs since surgery on Aug 26th, but that was almost a week ago. Being able to fit into some of the clothes I wasn't before is absolutely fabulous! I haven't had problems with anything I have tried so far (and I've been adventurous!). Though I have only tries very small amounts (a few bites), it doesn't seem like I will have a problem with sweets. Not a good thing really, but then it is nice to have a taste and I eat nowhere near what I did before. Next week I am finally off restrictions and I get to go back in the Water w00t w00t!

I still have some problems getting in all of my liquid consistently, but have no problems getting enough Protein. I have been having more head hunger which I think has been related to stress. Uuum I just had a partial thyroidectomy 2 days ago and am recovering. Right now I have a mix of emotions. I am thankful that I don't have thyroid cancer! I want to exercise and I can't cause I'm recovering. I'm thinking about the other half of my thyroid and hopes that it won't go into shock and can produce enough hormone so I don't have to go through thyroid meds.... So much more has happened this week that has been frustrating. All of this has got me a bit freaked out because I just want to lose, lose, lose, which has been slow cause this is a revision for me. I feel scared of failing, because I want this so badly and lately I just feel like...am I going to let myself down? Has anyone else had that feeling...like you just don't know if you can do this (especially during stress). Sometimes it scares me to feel this way, because I can't fail.

I do have moments of panic where I think, "What did I do to myself? Am I going to lose as much as I want? What if it doesn't work? What if I gain the weight back?" But in between those times, I feel absolutely at peace with where I am at. Like my brain has blocked all thoughts of weight matters. It's odd.

I had my surgery August 15th. I haven't had any complications so far. The only thing I have experienced is getting really sick, I got extremly nauseous , started dry heaving and sweating uncontrollably. I called my doctor becasue it's been three days since this has happened and he said it sounds like low blood sugar and when I feel like this to sip on some apple juice , hard candy or glucose tablets. I just find this so strange as I wasn't diabetic before my surgery and also I have gone a day without eating before.

Since this has happened I still feel nauseous and I really don't want to eat but am forcing some food down...blah!

On a good note my incisions are seeming to heal nicely. I've been using silicon scar pads and Vitamin E oil. I have been getting some compliments about looking like I've lost weight especially in my face and I do notice it in some of my clothes but as I'm sure we all can agree on the weight isn't coming off were I want it lol!

Omg! I hear all the time how I am losing it in my face, don't want or need to lose it there, and my mom says ur losing ur boobs. I only had small ones bfore because anytime I lost in the past that is where it left from. I told my friend. I don't have boobs I have hanging sacks of skin. But I am also noticing it in my pants, they used to be tight now I have to keep pulling them up. And my big butt is getting smaller too because all my skirts used to go to the middle of my calves and now go to the floor. I wish I was losing faster but I know that's because I barely eat. Nothing sits well, I just don't like the uncomfortable feeling after. But I'm getting better. I got a teriyaki bowl from jack in the box today. It took me about 4 hours but I ate all the chicken and veggies out of it and threw away the rice. Good luck to everyone and don't worry it will come off, you're all doing great.

That is so funny you mentioned boobs because I was noticing today how the cups of my bra are so big! My husband walked in on my holding the cups of my bra tighter around my boobs and he was "uh what are you doing??" Haha!

My pants are def getting baggy but just not so much in my tummy area and that's really where I want to see the change.

I haven't been able to eat very much especially when it comes meat so I've been eating more veggies and fruit. I need to eat more of the meat though as my doc said I don't have to do the Protein Shakes BUT only if I'm getting Protein from another source.

I have to say I'm loving talking to people who around the same time frame of surgery as I am!

Keep up the post August post op'ers :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
