Definitely jealous - I can't do any breads for another 4 weeks according to my dietician's plan....

I was a bit nervous about it but it was nice that it went well. I also did whole wheat toast today and it was fine. I haven't had any problems with getting food in yet. I'm 5 weeks out of surgery right now and my doctor said that basically I can eat back to normal at 6 weeks. Yay! Lol

It was 6 weeks before I had any sensation of full, 4 months before it was a real full sensation.

I am 4 weeks post op and I don't really get that full feeling either. I usually just eat 4 oz and stop because I am afraid to get sick.

So I had my surgery on August 6 on that day I weighed 302 lbs as of today 5 weeks later (or is it 6... Hmmm ) I weigh 276... Weight loss kinda slow but not getting my Protein in like I should... But on a positive note for a NSV I started in a size 24/26 and today I put on a pair of 20s and they fit perfect! I put a 22 on the other day but wanted to see if I could fit in to any smaller sizes and a size 20 fit great! Anyone else with any NSV!

My surgery was the 6th as well. I haven't lost anything in a week. But the other day I was taking my 5 yr old to school and she said "mommy your legs are so skinny". Made me feel good!

So it turns out that I do get the full feeling lol. Apparently I was about 4 bites away. And it was very uncomfortable for about an hour. Much better to simply measure and stick with that. Guessing was not fun.

How much weight has everyone lost since surgery?

I've lost 35 lbs. my surgery was August 6th. I had my dr appointment yesterday and she moved me from soft solids to pretty much anything. Was so excited I want a salad so bad. Guess what's for dinner tonight? Lol.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
