I got back home from the hosptial 48 hours later and I was 14 (yes fourteen!!!!) pounds UP, weighing in at 307. This morning I am 297. So, that is 10 pounds of the 14 pounds gained due to surgery. These gasses (I was laproscopic) and water (IV bags times a zillion) really added up! I too feel like I will never see 300 ever again!!! Thank goodness for that! I am just excited to get back to my weight of 293 that I was at pre-surgery and THEN I will start to shake the other weight. I am doing great with all my liquid Protein Shakes, water, Vitamins and supplements. Where are you located? I am in Washington State...just north of Seattle about an hour or so. Take Care...Kari Jo (I'm losing it) 1 Kbee reacted to this
Kbee 8 Posted December 23, 2013 I'm a December sleever. I had my procedure done on the 11/12/13 - nice easy date to remember. I have to say two weeks in I am feeling pretty good but very sick of shakes and broth. Looking forward to moving to the next phase. What is everyone's strategies for getting through Christmas? Our family is ALL about food so it's going to be a big change for me not partaking in the feasting this year. Would love to hear what people are planning. I am reminding myself it's not about the food - it's about the people. Seasons greetings to everyone and good luck! 1 I'm losing it! reacted to this
Kbee 8 Posted December 23, 2013 Ps I have lost 16kg (35 pounds for all you US people) since I first saw the surgeon about four months ago. Still a long way to go but you have to start banking the progress right and not look at the overall number you have to go?! 1 I'm losing it! reacted to this

I am on a three week liquid diet...protien drinks and hydrating fluids. So, on Christmas, my family is doing brunch (Crepes, fruit, bacon and sausage). I will be brining my protien shakes with me and that is that. I will sip, sip, sip away....as they eat all that NUMMY food. No choice, but I must stay on track and heal, heal, heal. Happy Holidays-Merry Christmas! 1 Kbee reacted to this

iJackie 6 Posted December 23, 2013 Anyone else felt dizzy or woozy post op? I feel like maybe im drugged up, cant really explain the feeling
HeroOfThisStory 24 Posted December 23, 2013 I should clarify...I say everything but you are right. Pork and no red.meat for long time. No asparagus, bacon, or steak. And supposed to be on pureed for at least 3 weeks and then soft foods. I am very careful and a bit hyper vigilent as to not go overboard. I am really not eatting much. Still, three weeks isn't bad at all. I'm on puree foods for 8 weeks, then soft foods for one, then week ten I can start introducing normal foods little by little with the exception of starches and red meat.< /p>

elleinfl 17 Posted December 24, 2013 Ok. So I had my surgery on 12/20. I just got released to come home today. Hospital stay was way longer than expected, but I have an over cautious surgeon. I had my gallbladder removed. And the surgery took over two hours longer than expected. Surgeon said it was the biggest fall bladder he had ever seen. That was an awkward thing to learn. My surgeon said he was shocked that it hasn't caused me problems. Wierd! The most awful pain was the second day. Another trippy part for me was having this tube removed from me this morning that was inside my body. When she pulled it out, it felt like a snake was in my body. Such a yucky feeling. I still have a tube that stays in me for six weeks. I hope it doesn't feel that way when they remove that one.

It gives me the willies thinking about it!! Sounds like your body is under control though, and since you also had your gall bladder out, it makes sense your surgeon kept you an extra day...better over-cautious than under-cautious! The hardest part is behind you! 1 elleinfl reacted to this
Greenize42 62 Posted December 24, 2013 My body DID NOT like the drain it was giving me muscles spasms to the point I was crying and the pain med did not help! When he pulled that thing out my side spasmed once more and it was up hill ever since!

RDCLambert 39 Posted December 24, 2013 Merry Christmas Eve!! So my very sweet neighbors brought a bucket full of homemade goodies. When I came back inside I opened it and just laughed. Last Christmas me and that bucket would have been sitting on the couch! But I closed it back up and will give it away! Weighed myself today and I and 283.3. That's about 22lbs since 12/2 and almost 10 lbs since surgery on 12/17. Today marks 1 week post op. I can get down with 10 lbs a week! Lol. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas. food will be tempting but WE CAN DO THIS!!! 2 Kbee and kraney reacted to this
