Jumping on the woo whoo wagon!!!

Recommended Posts

So it's been 10 weeks since I started this journey! I have been stuck at the same amount of weight but now worries because I have been feeling the loosining of my clothes and shoes...(now I thought that was weird) anyhoo. Last thursday was girls night out and I don't know what possesed me. I pulled out the leopard print dress that was my favorite boogies dress before I met my hubbie. Since I met and married my husband it has not fit. But I was feeling good so I put it on. I zipped.... and zipped and thought wow it fits! So I had to share. My girls are very skinny and very supportive and that night they say I got my confidence back. You see I have never been a thin girl but when I started pushing 300 I thouhgt I had lost it... You all know what it is. When you think that no man can resist your smile... I know in my head it comes from inside but I just needed a little of it back on the outside. Well as they say IM BACK! Long way to go but I am feelin fabulous!

Ditto on what Alex said..

one reason is I don't do dresse's... the last dress I wore was my wedding dress 12 years ago and before that it was my prom dress 20 yrs ago..

You look great Rica!

Congrats to you :D

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
