Wow. I guess I just really over-ate for the first time since surg (7/30/13). That really hurt! It felt like a stabbing in my stomach. Hopefully that'll make me pay more attention! :-/

Ate a third. I drink that carnation instant brkfst, with Protein Powder. Baked potatoes. Retried Beans. Soups. eggs. I had stouffers lasagna as a puree! Or chew good! Chkn salad. Salmon was good. I just kind of grab something small. Its just me and my young son so I don't have to cook much!

Wow, you are eating a much bigger variety than me...grilled chicken yum..baked potatoes! Why. Did you puree lasagna? Seems like a soft food? All sounds great, gonna try the stouffers lasagna..

I also had surgery July 30 2013. I'm on day 4 of soft foods and have been eating turkey meatballs with marinara, one meatball and I'm full. Hope all goes well from here.

I started logging food cuz I was worried I'd eat the wrong things and take in too many calories. But, I seem to avg around 400-500 a day....which is not much at all. And i drink lots of Water.

I would ask but I don't think you are eating too much. I average about the same. I was told not to worry about the calories. Focus on the Protein number.

I was told the same. Focus on Vitamins, Protein and fluids. For the record I'm getting between 650 and 850 cals a day according to my tracker. I'm three months out.

Turkey chili w/beans is good too. One cup has 17gr protein but I can only eat 1/2 cup. I never have trouble with it.

Help! I had surgery on August 26th, and I am having nausea when standing too long. I am not getting too much down and this morning I was trying to pour myself 2oz. Of Protein drink, but I was spitting up and urinating all at the same time. This happens every time. What can I do?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
