JustRick 8 Posted August 27, 2013 blueeyezz, My surgery was the day after. I was having problems also and saturday I took some Swiss Kriss, it is a natural herbal laxative. I took it Saturday morning and later that evening I had a good movement and again Sunday. It caused little cramping but was well worth it. Give it a try. You should be able to find it at any Walgreen and other drug stores. Rick

Eliza jo 4 Posted August 27, 2013 I had the same problem, my nut and Dr said to do milk of magnesia. That miralax is a Fiber and not too good for the new tummy. You should call your Dr.
lisalisalisa 54 Posted August 27, 2013 I'm taking a daily stool softener. It helps and doesn't cause cramping or discomfort.
ArmyOfMe 82 Posted August 27, 2013 Add prunes to your diet when you are cleared by your surgeon. They make a lot of difference to keeping you going regularly, besides the traditional stool softeners. Fecal impaction is my biggest nightmare. I learned the hard way not to let one day go by to where I don't take my stool softeners, my dried prunes, H2O and Miralax.< /p>
