I'm pretty ashamed to admit this, but I find myself already overeating... I'm only 11 weeks out.. I still track everything I eat, but yesterday I ended up with 1500 calories and today 1600. It's like I can't help it. I need to find somewhere to help me with the addiction to food. I'm not so worried right now, but in the future when I won't have the assistance of malnutrition... Ugh. Feeling really down... I already find myself saying "I'll do better tomorrow" and I'm so new to this! I really don't want to fall back in to old habits..

Don't be ashamed of what you are doing. Those feelings create self doubt and other issues. Instead lets figure out what to do to help you.

Eating that many calories is not always a bad thing. It is the food choices that are bad. eggs have a high calorie count, but also very high in Protein. If you are eating what your doctor is expecting you to eat don't worry about the calories. Many of don't log our food to track our calories. I log my food to track my Protein intake. Now the flip side of that is if you are not making good food choice and stopping at the fast food places or you are eating candy food and chips and junk food.

Hope this help

Since u are already logging your food lets take it that one step further. Log your emotions you are feeling and why you think you need the food right now.

I agree with Music. Don't focus on the calorie count but what you are putting in your pouch. I doubt you are eating an entire pizza pie or a whole double cheeseburger and fries. Those are the junk foods we should be worried about. Notice, I said WE, because at the end of the day, we are all in this together. You are not alone.

Also, remember that your whole body is in shock. Eating more is not a bad thing, you are putting your pouch at work. Eating less will send the message of starvation mode and you tend to stall or lose very slowly because there is nothing for your pouch to work on. It gets lazy/too comfortable.

Don't beat yourself up and focus on your Protein and Water intake.

Thank you so much guys. I appreciate the kind words and encouragement. It's very apparent to me that this will be a lifetime thing for me. And you are so right. I did eat 1600 calories yesterday, but it was all healthy. I got 102 grams of Protein in. And I will try not to beat myself up. I'm always so focused on perfection that I guess not being perfect gets to me. Lol thank you again! Today is a new day! :)

I would try to focus on your portion size. I eat about 90 grams of Protein but only 700 calories. I don't eat over 3-4 ounces of protein per meal and then two high protein Snacks. Remember that a normal serving is only 3-4 ounces. That should keep your calories where they should be. Now if your working out you need those higher calories so it depends on where you are at and what your doing. It's all a learning curve. Good luck!!!

If you feel you are not in control, and need help with addiction, by all means seek help.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
