Hey Pretty I'm doing good! For those of you that didn't get the abdominal binder you need to. It's awesome. I'm going home today. After dealing with the late night crew I'm ready too. I did everything for myself. They had me sit here over an hour waiting on a cup of ice Water. I've been daring my own fluids, cleaning myself unhooking myself probably moved a few items that were to heavy. I'm reporting them all this morning. I even had to go weigh myself when they are supposed to bring the scale to you???? good luck to you all! Keep us posted! I believe shay goes in today so good luck to her! Everything will be fine!

Hope today is better! I'm still in, I'll probably get to go home today as well. Just these stupid lower stomach cramps are killing me! Plus I started my period, for the first time in like 6 months, and they took away my pain button :( wah! Did they take out your drain tube yet? I'm so scared for that.

Wow....I didn't get a pain button! Nor did I have a drain tube. ? But yes, my period started and it had been over a year! Good luck. Hope you get to go home soon!

Wow!! I'm just shy of three months and I barely get 64 oz a day. My nut said that the human body only needs 32 oz to survive and 64 to be hydrated. She said as long as I feel okay it's fine but to try to get more in. I gained 22lbs in the hospital cause all the iv Fluid and they wanted to keep me in longer because I wasn't going to the bathroom enough. I never heard of not being able to drink enough.

I feel weird drinking so frequently. It feels like I am taking in way too much this way, but realistically I have only made it through about 12oz of Protein Shake today. And maybe 20oz of Water. What an odd feeling huh?

And what is this about the binder? They never talked to me about that but it sounds like it would be really helpful. I am so dependant on my husband for everything right now.

Ah! Yeah my pillow and teddy will be coming :) and as far as post op goes the only things I have right now are the liquid diet stuff' date=' and my mom did pick up some baby food for stage 2, but I know I'll be favoring yogurt and mashed potatoes over everything then![/quote']

My 8 year old bought me a pillow pet while I was in the hospital. I had told him I was taking a pillow to hug when my tummy hurt. He thought the pillow pet would work for that and keep me company. It worked PERFECT and was one of the sweetest and most thoughtful gifts ever :)

Awwww! How cute! They even let me take my bear into the OR and he stayed under the bed the whole time and waited for me :D I'm like the little baby on this floor all the nurses love it lol everyone else is like in their 60s and I'm over here at 19, plus at this hospital I'm only the 5th bariatric patient they've had so its all new to them. It's sort interesting.

I know it's crazy! They've still got me on IV, but they gave me this huge 20oz jug and said I have to finish 2 of them by 3:00 and then another by the end of the day. It's so much! Plus trying to get in my sips of tea and bites of Jello and stuff. Guess ill try harder today!

Hello everyone glad to hear you're all doing well. I'm doing good still a little pulling sensation on my incisions but not really any pain. Most days I don't even take pain meds so that's a plus. I haven't been getting in my Protein like I should so il trying something new today. I'm going shopping for new Protein Drinks, Decaf tea etc. if you have any faves that I should try let me know.

Oh, I use my abdominal binder sometimes but it's not really comfortable with this drain tube. I don't get that removed until Tuesday.

I picked up some really great beef broth and hot chocolate at my surgeon's office. 15 grams of Protein a cup, 8 more if you mix them with milk instead of Water. They are made by Healthy Wise. I highly recommend. I had to stop by my sugeon's office yesterday for more because I underestimated how much I would want savory instead of sweet after surgery. Glad to hear you're doing well. Keep on moving!

They took out my drain before I left the hospital! That's my most painful spot though. My left side is second to that. It's a little better today compared to yesterday, I'm only taking one teaspoon of pain meds instead of two. I agree it's so hard to get in all my Protein and Water. I think I only got about 21 grams of protein yesterday and 36 oz of water? I'm trying to increase today, but it's hard with the half hour rule, and not being able to handle much in the first place, and plus I just want to nap!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
