elli'smommy 160 Posted August 22, 2013 So, I finally decided that it's not something I'm doing wrong but something physically not right with my pouch. Over the past couple days I've barley taken in 3 cups of liquids and less than 600 cals due to vomiting. My energy is zapped. So I called the surgeon. He wanted me in tomorrow for endoscope and possible dilation. I couldn't arrange for child care that quickly so I'm going in on Friday. Sigh...I'm nervous...being put to sleep again. I'm disappointed that I have to do this. I was just getting groove with exercise and feeling good now this. Anyone else know anything about this? How long will I be in the hospital? How long is recovery? Will I be able to attend a function on Saturday evening for example? Thanks guys. Chris

Jacqueline K 93 Posted August 22, 2013 I had mine dialiated middle of July. I had mine done on Thursday and went home Friday- they just wanted to make sure I could hold down solids before they sent me home. I felt fine after the procedure. The sedation isn't general anesthesia so you won't be so groggy as before with the bypass. You'll feel much better when you can eat again. Plus if you're dehydrated, like I was, they'll get you plenty of fluids. You'll do so much better after. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
elli'smommy 160 Posted August 22, 2013 Does it hurt afterwards? Will I have to go back on a liquid diet?
Jacqueline K 93 Posted August 22, 2013 Does it hurt afterwards? Will I have to go back on a liquid diet? Doesn't hurt except for a slightly sore throat. I barely noticed that though. I was on a liquid diet the day it was done and soft foods for 2 days after. He said as long as everything went down ok that after those 2 days back to normal diet.
