I'm also the 28th. Nervous, anxious and excited. Have been so diligent on my pre-op diet. Not sleeping well but figure I can sleep while in hospital. Less than 1week and we will be on the other side :)

Me too! I'm super excited and super nervous. I keep thinking 7 days is a long time but it really isn't. Just seemed that way when I started my pre op diet lol! I think I go in at 8 or 9

OK it is getting better each day, thank goodness. I was having a little of buyers remorse. The pumpkin belly (from the gas) and added weight was a surprise, but after 6 days I am getting closer to normal. Two weeks of liquids seems like a long time. It's not hunger (gads, I can't get in the Protein and Fluid required), its mourning the loss of food. I knew to expect it, but thought I would be more resiliant. This will be a process I can already tell. I have an appointment with my bariatric therapist in a few weeks; she's seen patients like me for years and approaches wellness through a behaviorial change.

My husband, while he is usually a dear, has totally missed the mark at how to offer comfort or support. At day 4 he's telling me to get on with it already. No sweet words, no softness. More like cracking the whip and telling me to buck up and walk. Geez, I'm having to give him lessons in how to be empathetic.

I have to be there at 9am. I can't wait to sit on the losers bench. I started the pre op diet today. So far so good. I think I will be alright. My doctor told me I can do ice cream. No nuts etc... but im good with that.

I have to be at the hospital at 630 in the morning. Starting to freak out a little!

Just remember that it is much better after a week and after you get out of the hospital. Seeing the scale move will make it worthwhile.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
