Don't buy too many!! I have heard from numerous people that your tastes change after the surgery so u might not like the same shake after that u did before! Just an FYI :)

At my boot camp class, we tried Necter chocolate Truffle, Cookies and Cream and strawberry all mixed with milk. He also mixed them with sugar-free instant Breakfast - a generous scoop of Protein mix, a packet of IB and 16 oz of milk. Really yummy. He recommended Blender bottles rather than using an electric blender.

On Amazon, I bought the Bariatric Foodies Guide to Protein shakes. She recommends using sugar free Torani syrups, sugar free pudding and Jello added to make approximations of bar drinks.

Good morning girls! Hope you all have an awesome Saturday!

I use a Protein shake called Premier Protein, it's at SAMs club and maybe Walmart. It's got 30 grams of Protein and I think only 6 grams of carbs. I like the chocolate flavor. It's thin too, not gritty or thick like some can be.

I also drink Isopure sometimes, it's fruit flavored and come in a big bottle. It has 60 grams of protein per bottle! I usually drink half a bottle at a time. I like the red and purple flavors. You can buy them at GNC, but I get them at the Commissary on base for a lot cheaper if any of you are military wives.....

Also......I discovered something called PB2 that you can add to Protein Shakes. It's actually powdered Peanut Butter. It has lots of Protein and hardly any of the sugar that normal peanut butter has! So if you like the flavor of peanut butter it's awesome :D

October1st...is my date. Can't wait. It's been over a year since I started this process. Have been so discouraged because of the time it has taken to just get a date. I live in Baltimore, MD. Would love a buddy.

If any of you are near a Sheetz try the OHyeah Protein shakes in the cooler. They are amazing. I highly recommend the Cookies and creme and bananas and creme flavors. You can also get them at Vitamin shoppe too. But Sheetz is about .50-1.00 cheaper. They are ready to drink shakes and i will swear by them.. I just hope I still like them after.

also, Twisted cherry Syntrax nectar tastes just like twizzlers.

Take a deep breath.... now.. stay positive and dont dwell on the negatives. Do what the dr says as best as you can. Start changing your mindset now. take your Vitamins at all the right times, dont drink with meals, Protein first, chew chew chew... pause between bites. WE got this.. I have been practicing since april. Start the changes now to make them easier when the time comes.

I have found a bunch of apps(for android at least) to prepare if you want the list.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
