Ice Cold Diet Pepsi

Such good news about the coffe. The nutritionist said no more caffiene. I have a question. I've read that we cant have Pasta or rice. What if I blenderize it in the magic bullet? Can i have it then?

I never drank soda so it's not something that I would miss. I have become so used to decaffinated that it just doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that when I have this surgery, I will not be able to eat and drink. Also, I would have to have a little sugar in my coffee because I am allergic to the artificial sweetners. :)

No way could I give up coffee. Luckily my team still allows 2 cups caffeinated a day....or else I'd die' date=' haha.[/quote']

My team allows 2 cups/day as well, but I'm TERRIFIED of getting an ulcer (mostly because I don't want to use my pto time to get it fixed! Haha). I have found a few Decaf coffees that aren't terrible, but still not as good as the real deal! Lol

I figure with the Nexium I'm safe haha. Plus with my 16 hour shifts caffeine is a must!

DaVinci makes sugar free Cola flavored Syrup. Almost 50 flavors total. But for you cola cravers this may be a nice treat. You can google DaVinci syrups and it will come up. They also sell some at Walmart and Albertson. I've had the SF chocolate, sf raseberry, and sf Carmel....bit o heaven in your mouth.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
