I used to say regular Pepsi was my cocaine. I could drink 4-5 cans a day. I quit drinking it about 5 months before my surgery. I still crave it every day. I was a smoker and this November will be 3 years that I've been smoke free and yet I crave Pepsi more then a cigarette by far.

Ugh! There is one thing I miss more than anything since RNY... Fountain Diet Pepsi... Yum! I would commit a crime for a large, iced cold, fountain pop!

I can't believe how long it's been since I've had soda. I've had a couple sips here and there but this summer I've really craved it! I even opened a can and left it out only to wake up with it dumped ! :( the hubby thought it was left didn't think I was leaving it out to get flat lol I was bummed!

I'm with you all, I love my Pepsi Next, I have to admit I have put a ton of ice in a glass & poured my Pepsi& gave it a good stir till almost all of the fizz was gone. YUM!!! I don't do it often mostly when I feel a Migraine coming on, but it doesn't bother the pouch to much.

No way could I give up coffee. Luckily my team still allows 2 cups caffeinated a day....or else I'd die, haha.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
