I had gastric bypass on July 16th and then an emergency back surgery August 4th. The reason I am posting this because I have no energy. I mean none. I can hardly walk from my living room down the hall and to my bedroom. I don't know what I am doing wrong, or what the problem is. People keep telling me I had 2 major surgeries almost 2 weeks apart and it's going to take time, but I'm sick of hearing that. Could that really be the reason? Or an I low on a Vitamin? Am I not getting enough Protein? I can't live my life like this. Tonight my family went out to Celebrate my brother n laws birthday and I could barley keep my head off the table. Ugh.

Maybe get updated blood work to check your levels and such. Sorry to hear you have had to endure two major surgeries. I hope you feel better soon!

are you walking enough? maybe you are getting unconditioned from not moving..I know it has to be difficult with the back surgery, but I know even myself if I dont get up and force myself to walk I feel very lethargic and weak...

I'm walking but if I'm going any distance I need a walker and with the back surgery it is VERY hard to walk. The fact that I have a numb left leg and they cut through my stomach muscles for my gastric bypass and cut through my back muscles for my back surgery. I feel like every time I walk I have the chance to fall at any second.

I have no balance combined with no energy it's just nuts how hard all this is. I'm supposed to be going back to work sep 10th but at this point I don't see that being possible. :(

I would call the dr if I were you...your not moving enough, and that can cause a blood clot, which you don't need on top of everything else you got going on...maybe they can set you up with in home physical therapy, which it sounds like you could use..

I don't think I'm at that much risk for a blood clot but ill look into it I just know home therapy is expensive.

I am SO sorry for saying exactly what you don't want to hear, but I will give a reason with it. Lol

You DID just have two major surgeries in a row. The same thing happened to me within a month (lap band removal then GBP as a desperate surgery). I had the same complaint weeks post op. I felt terrible. No energy and I felt like life would never resume normally for me. I went to my surgeon and she explained it to me like this.... Your body isn't used to getting as "beat up" as it just did. When you think about it, not only were you just STABBED multiple times, but you literally had your insides that have been the same your WHOLE life suddenly changed dramatically. Your body is physically trying to cope with the change and heal it. A lot of your energy is going to healing up your organs. You're also going to be forced to lay around by your body so you don't "hurt" it anymore while its still trying to heal up the previous wounds. Hope that was a more detailed reason for why you're so tired. I would still contact your MD though to rule out anything else. :) feel better!

Hi I understand what you are going through, because I felt like that for the past 2 weeks. I'm now a month post open, and on my past visit to my doctor. He told me about hibernation syndrome. So I did some research and it put a name to how I was feeling. So when you get a chance look into it. For the last few days I feel great, almost back to my old self. Hope you start to feel better.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
