I got a question about my fitness play. I've had it for a while but never really used it. Toddy I have shredded chicken mixed with avocado total of 1/2 cup. My question how do I know how much Protein I just ate? I'm not good at this whole figuring out how much protein I ate.

You need to measure the ingredients separately and enter them. For example, 3 oz chicken breast & 1/8 avocado. As you enter the portion size for each you can see the grams of protein. Go to the home screen (mobile android) to see your daily protein intake.

If you out the serving size into MFP it will calculate the protein amounts for each item.

You're screwed! Sorry! You'll just have to guess-timate it. You can add recipes but you have to know each amount of each item in the salad, then MFP calculates each servings nutrients for you. Otherwise you'll just have to estimate xxx chicken xxx avocado xxx mayo and calculate each ingredient individually. This is where MFP is a pain on the butt.

This is the reason I don't use MFP as much as I should. Takes too much to measure and enter everything separately.

It's a pain in the butt, but I find it keeps me honest with myself. I would NEVER meet my Protein if I didn't log....I find most things I eat I can estimate on serving size after having measured for months..Things I eat often I've added to MFP. Some days, I just don't bother.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
