Food Logs Discussion

Recommended Posts

Kristy' date=' Kristy, Kristy - how could you forget to pack your scale? LOL!

I really think it's good to take an occasional break from logging (or the scale!). I don't log when I'm on vacation. I think everyone enjoys and benefits from getting away from the "routine" for a bit.[/quote']

My husband logged his food while we were on our cruise. I yelled at him a few times that we were on vacation and yes he would be going over his calories everyday. Told him we were supposed to relax not feel restricted.

Just wanted to check in with everyone and see how logging was going.

I have been resistant to it this week, not sure why. I have put it off until the evening and I am sure I have missed things. I am really trying to stay on track as this is such a valuable tool.

I started logging my food intake. It was about that time.

Now to figure out how the heck to edit serving sizes in MFP from the default options to the actual size I eat.

Anybody know the secret? :D

You just click on serving size and select which you'd prefer then under that is number of servings, frequently my number of servings is 0.25 or 0.33.

They're all people from here :). That was a shot of the weekly view (instead of daily) on my iPad.

I use the weekly average more than daily. I think as long as we're averaging enough then it's all good!

I'm logging religiously now. I should have started from the beginning. I didn't realize what a helpful tool it was! Now I know exactly how much Protein I'm getting. If I come up short by the end of the day I add a Protein Shake and it usually puts me where I need to be. :-)

Hey guys! I'm running terribly behind in everything because of a week of jury duty. We officially went into deliberation late Friday afternoon. Fingers crossed for a verdict today. I'll be back soon!

I was thinking this morning that I had not seen you recently on the boards.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
