I remember years ago when I was 24 and went from 245 lbs to 178, my shoe size got smaller from a 9 to 8.5. I was wondering if anyone has experienced their shoe size getting smaller now that they are 6+ months post op?

I definitely noticed a change in my feet. I had some flats that were a tad uncomfortable and would rub on the knuckle part of my big toe. Wore them a couple months ago and they were so loose, that they flipped and flopped on my foot all day and created a nasty blister on my heel.

When I was younger I was an 8, and then when I was pregnant my feet went up to a 9 and never went down. After losing all this weight I'm back in a solid 8!

Thank God that I'm not crazy. I will be 6 months out on dec. 5th and noticed that all my cute size 11, 10w and 10 shoes doesn't fit anymore but I don't remember ever wearing a 9. Guess I'm gonna have to try a 9 or 9w. I'm a slow loser but my feet seems to be losing more than my body. Don't want to invest on new shoes now cos the way my feet is going, I will go down to size 6 in the next 6months LOL.

I pray my feet shrink. I started at a 10 ans gained a half a day size with each pregnancy. Now I wear a 12 and finding shoes is very painful.

As a heavy person my feet got very wide. I was wearing a 9 1/2w, more for the width than the length. I'm in an 8 1/2 now and sometimes an 8, which was my pre-pregnancy size 28 years ago. :-)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
