I am finding signs of knee and elbow bones. My wrists are getting thinner too. When I get on a bike, it feels like the entire seat is going UP my ass! I can't wait to feel like I am just sitting on something instead of becoming an imtimate part with it. LOL, Teresa

Well, I don't think that my husband has anything to worry about for a very long time!

My husband says having sex with a skinny woman is like making love to a bag of antlers.

Teresa, I'm feelin' ya! Everything used to just sink into the fat. I used to stand up and my butt would get stuck in my lawn chair and the chair would come up with me. Now I don't need to brace my hands on the chair to keep it on the ground when I stand up.

Has anyone noticed hip pain after getting up. I think I must of carried my weight forward, so now that I have lost 98#'s when I stand up I feel like I have to lean forward a little because it hurts in my hip joint. I am going to have to start a stretching rountine to stretch out all those shortened tendons. Let me know if anyone else has had that experience. Tammy

Tammy, I haven't noticed any pains related to weight loss (unless you count the pain I have had after exercising). But I had an issue with the way my sense of balance changed, for a while. I had to re-orient myself going down stairs, and moderate the energy I use to get out of chairs. I was shooting across the room! It's sort of like a reversal of the changes we go through during pregnancy. I got really clumsy there for a while! :D

Great Job on the 98 LBS lost Tammy!!! When did you get banded? I didn't see your stats. I find my knee is a bit sore some days after 60 lbs lost but think it is probably just a remnant of the heavier days. My knee never hurt frequently before but once in awhile it would have really painful episodes. Hope you get all straightened out. Teresa

Hi,

I was banded on 2/3/04, I did lose 40

3's before my banding thou. Two days after my banding I blew my knee out, I didn't realize it due to the pain meds from surgery. I had to have knee surgery and was out of work just about 3 months. Thank you and how are you doing? I have been stuck here and I am fighting "head hunger", need to get my but in gear and start concentrating on good choices. Tammy

My head hunger is in full swing and is trying to convince me that I don't have a band. Need to find those tiny bites and slow chewing cuz I'm not sure where it went. Gaining.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
