gomekast 559 Posted August 12, 2013 Anyone have any experience dealing with them? Just wondering what I'm going to possibly run into. Thanks!
liane 30 Posted August 12, 2013 I have BCBS of NY. I had to do 6 months of supervised nutritional weigh in appointments at once a month. I also had to meet certain BMI requirements. Once I had the 6 months is with all the other appointments they approved me quickly. Where are you in the process? Good luck!
gomekast 559 Posted August 12, 2013 Beginning! I've done the info meeting, sent in a huge packet of all my stuff. See the psyh, nurse clinician and bariatric dr all on the 28th in the morning along with labs. My ins does not require the diet, and states just a BMI 40+ or 35 with co-morbs. From what I've been reading, it almost seems too good to be true!
liane 30 Posted August 12, 2013 YEAH!! I do know people who had similar guidelines with insurance and it was a a rather quick and easy process. I am so happy for you. I remember being so nervous when mine went out for approval hoping and praying everything was right You will do just fine. Good luck!
