Hi all, I am 4 months pre-op as of yesterday. Highest weight 266 weight on surgery date 253 and current weight is 186! It's only been 4 months and I think I've hit a stop again! Is this normal? I'm so worried that I'm done losing and will remain this weight or even put weight back on!! Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on this??

There are numerous threads on here regarding stalls.. It happens and is totally normal. Up your protein.. Increase your exercise... Follow protocol... This to shall pass. Btw you are doing great.

The only thing I would change is your stress level over what a little machine tells you every morning. Stalls happen, and when they do you typically loose inches. I dropped pants sizes during my stalls. The more you stress the sorest it is on you. I am sure you are doing everything just fine. 83 pounds in 5 months is awesome!!!!

Measure your success by something other than a number. Write down a goal list and start crossing off the goals you have already reached. I would measure my weight loss by how much of my feet I could see in the shower. I knew I need surgery when I could no longer clean personal areas in the shower and when my feet disappeared as I looked starlight down in the shower. So Now I look down and can see my ankles. I don't care what the scale says. In fact people don't believe me when I tell them. Muscle weighs more than fat and I am working on building muscle.

Keep your chin up and stop stressing!

I agree

also hide your scale if it is stressing you out that much, don't look at just the numbers, feel the results, go shopping and try on clothes you will see you loss inches.....and into new sizes

WLS is a tool to help lose weight but its not magic and all of the weight will not come off fast...give it time, follow your program and be happy for the small successes you have had so far...83lbs is a lot of weight to lose but if you keep on stressing out it may lead you to turn to food once again....

I have been at a few stalls...but I'm embracing my success so far....I'm in a obese category rather than morbid obese (as crazy as it sounds...I'm happy to be obese but we have to learn to be happy for these little things), i no longer have sleep apnea, my asthma is in control last I used a pump was before surgery, I am no longer borderline diabetic i have energy...i went from a 32 to a 12, i can feel my collar bone,i can see my chin....

look at all your success so far and

Love the body you have whilst you work towards the body you want

P.s. no stressing

Thank you all for all of your kind words and support! It really does help out a lot!! I'm not so obsessed with the scale as if recent but I was concerned about the stall because of some health issues I recently had (gallbladder removed then ended up in the hospital cause I was internally bleeding) so I got worried that maybe being laid up for a bit has hurt me somehow! I definitely feel the sizes dropping and am so

Grateful for that!! I was up to walking 5 miles 3 times a day and now I'm not as active due to pain! I just feel off kilter right now!

I hate the stalls more than anything it frustrates me too....my kids had to physically snatch the scale and hide it from me lol...I'm happy you are losing inches and I am wishing you a speedy recovery for you to get better...and don't worry that scale will move for u soon....believe me I had a few procedures after gastric and the scale did not budge..talk about worried I had my surgeon on speed dial...lol

Feel better :)

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
