The thought of exercise was just that... A thought

2 biscuits with gravy bacon and eggs was a small Breakfast

Rash between thighs from just walking

Women were nice and men couldn't look me in the eye

Now...

One egg fills me up

Running 2 miles a day

Thighs don't touch

Women barely speak to me an men talk to me like I'm thier long lost friend... Sad but true

Just some ramblings for a Friday

love this post! I was thinking this morning on my way in to work about some of the same things!

I used to stop every morning and get a large coke, steak biscut with hash browns or some combo of that....then eat something sweet later in the morning like a honeybun when I got to work. lunch was a meal from our cafe' which was always fried something or something not healthy...and supper was either something fast food or something unhealthy for my whole family. I have realized how bad my eating habits really were and it makes me so sad! I wouldnt have exercised if you paid me!!

Now I am like you... one scrambled egg and a half pc of toast fills me up for hours! Lunch is healthy Protein and a veggie and dinner is a meal I make homemade with lean meats & veggies. And exercise is something I do now without thinking about it! I LOVE my walking routines! And when I dont exercies I feel like I have really missed out on my daily "me time".

Funny how things can change for us. I am so thankful for my surgery... Aug 13th is my 1 year anniversary!!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
