So I'm just curious about how much excess/loose skin people have been experiencing?

I'm 25 5'6" and 240 lbs. My surgery is scheduled for September 24th and even if I have a lot of loose skin ill just be thrilled to improve my fertility and functionality!

Is there anything I can do to improve the chances of helping my skin tighten up a little? I plan on exercising regularly and staying hydrated.

Any other tips?

Loose skin depends on a couple of factors.

The main one is skin turgor. You are young, so this shouldn't be an issue.

The next one is how much the skin has stretched, how long it has been stretched and have you gone from big to small to big before.

Basically, how big are you? How long have you been this big and have you ever lost it all and gained it back.

A lot of people with loose skin will say that they were very big and that they had been big a long time.

Your stats aren't bad. You should have minimal issues. You are young and you don't weigh that much.

Yeah, even with toning I already have excess skin from carrying twins. I talked to a plastic surgeon and he basically told me there are many factors and that it's a very individual thing. Toning will definitely help the overall musculature and will give a better appearance after plastic surgery if one goes that route.

My twins did me in, too. They pretty much destroyed me physically and financially. Lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
