So I went to weigh in today and just like I thought the doctors scale is wayyyy off from my own scale. I weighed myself at home this morning and I was 456. Which is only 6 pounds from my second appointment. We I went to weigh in at the doctors and I 462. Ugggh it's just so annoying to think I am so close but still so far away. Sorry guys I just needed to vent because no one around me really cares to hear my vents..thanks for listening.

On the good side I think I will get to swim in the morning which means that's my third time this week. Usually I only get two days a week to go!! Exercise here I come!!

I hope you mean 362!!!! Clothing can easily add 3-4 pounds drinking and eating can add a couple more....my docs scales are typically 4-5 heavier in the afternoon (my appointments are always late in the day) compared to my early am, naked, just peed, haven't eaten or drank anything... Keep on keeping on!!! You'll get there!!!!

Lol no I meant 456. I just fixed it. I was typing to fast. And yeah everyone says they weigh more in the afternoon. And I usually weigh my self just like you. Lol naked and just peed early in the morning. Lol to bad I can't go weigh in like that. I would be 453. My doctors scale is always 5 pounds heavier also. Thanks for the encouragement!! I sure need it!!

I work in a family practice office and hear this 30 times a day :). I swear, one of these days, one of my old ladies is going to strip naked in the hall before she lets us weigh her!! It's so funny. People take off shoes, empty pockets, start taking off layers. They crack us up!!!

I didn't want to ask but heck my shirt weighs at least 3pounds by it self. It's a 7xl. Lol I felt like she would have looked at me crazy. So I didn't. Lol I'm sure I could have gotten down to at least 458, 459 lbvs

The only good thing about my doctors is that the scale is in a room all by itself. I might just strip next time. Especially if I am only a few pounds off.. Close your eyes!!lol

Hah, I feel exactly the same... I concur what other people say, whatever you drink and eat stays in you, until you pee, so our required 65oz (around 1/2 gallon) a day is over 4 lbs!!! Other thing is that I have a scale that I got for 4.99 at target some years back. Not very accurate... And for years I would stand on that dreaded doc office scale with my back to it, So I don't have to see it! I would tell the nurse that I don't want to know how much I weight ... Now I see my med history and realize that I was living in denial :-( don't worry and schedule last weight in the office in the morning :) hugs!

I take my scale to the doctors. The difference was 6 lbs and I refuse to just take their number as fact.

They now use my scale for my weight. I don't even touch theirs.

I think I am going to do that next time I go weigh in. I'm so close to my goal for my second appointment and I don't want 3 or 4 pounds to stop me. I need to be 450 to get my appointment.

I am going to start going in the early mornings to weigh in. I don't have to have an appointment to weigh in since I'm just trying to get to my second appointment goal. I have to be 450 to get the appointment.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
