SD:8/21/13 Yes alone with no spouse approval or support. Not a lone when it came to taking care of my kids. My teenager took care of them but they aren't so small. I did pretty good next day after release from hospital I went grocery shopping. I was cooking so I was alone a lot.
ArmyOfMe 82 Posted August 6, 2013 You will be fine. You are stronger than you think. Your mind will keep your engines running even when your body is tired. Just rest a lot and follow your health care providers advice. Good luck to you!
mrs.katie 27 Posted August 6, 2013 I am alone too. My husband is currently away with the Army and we have no children. I know I can do it because I already have. Two weeks ago I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy. I came home and have been alone since. I do have someone who comes once a week and cleans for me and does my laundry since the limitations after a hysterectomy mean I can't do anything for weeks. I can't even sweep until week 3. We are stronger than we know.
shawna29 60 Posted August 6, 2013 Oh this makes me feel so relieved! You all are wonderful people. I'm two weeks away from the big day! I'm so ready for my life to change. SD:8/21/
TheThr33 3 Posted August 7, 2013 I'm alone too. I have a room mate but we're not close and she doesn't know this is happening. Surgery is tomorrow. I think I'll be alright though. If I really need help I can stay with my parents. But I'd rather not.
terry1118 1,274 Posted August 7, 2013 It turns out that I'm going to be alone after the first week post op. Was anyone else alone? Will I be able to care for myself? SD:8/21/13 I'm married with grown children. My husband wanted to stay home with me but I didn't really need him to. I spent my time time home alone napping, reading, walking, and learning how to eat and drink again. The only thing I needed my husband for was to carry my dachshunds upstairs at night. My recovery was easy, aside from an annoying rash. I was cutting my lawn and doing housework a week later.

I'm miserable without Benadryl but Benadryl knocks me out and then I don't drink enough. Any advice would be really appreciated.
