I was told a clear liquid is when, like a popsicle, it is a clear consistency at room temp....as is sherbet :)

My bad...

Only found fat free. :(

It was a thought though ! I'm getting bored with Clear Liquids. I can only handle so much broth and Popsicles. LOL. Few more days and I'll get past this stage. Thanks!! :)

During this stage when I needed something different I went with yogurt or sf pudding.

I would love yogurt! But, my doc said the liquids have to be clear the first week. :(

I can start yogurt and pudding in a few days though...I hope!

Don't forget jello! I'd make it and drink it warm for a change...but yeah, you're EXTREMELY limited at this point...sucks, but you'll get through!

When you are able to have it, Healthy Choice makes a frozen Greek yogurt that's tasty. Sugar's at the top end of the acceptable range but it has Protein too. I keep it around so I can have a treat when my family has ice cream.

What is acceptable for sugar? I can't remember what my nut said. I thought it was 9g and I can't find any ice cream/frozen yogurt in that range?

I'm honestly not sure but the one I was looking at was 20g. Yeah. Too high. Oh well :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
