Problems with Cold beverages.

Recommended Posts

I haven't had surgery yet, but my surgeon doesn't allow ice for 6 months after surgery.

I had problems after surgery with cold temperatures that I used to love! I had to switch to hot tea for about a month. I am now over 4 months out and once again love my ice cold water!

I can only drink cold things. Warm or room temperature doesn't seem to quench my thirst at all.

I can only drink things that are ice cold. I can't do anything hot, or even room temp, it doesn't sit well... Everyone's pouch has it's own temperaments i suppose. haha.

Everyone's pouch is different. I hate room temperature drinks. On another note, I love your hair!

I noticed the name after I commented. Girl, I wish I knew how to do hair. I'm one of those black women that are clueless when it comes to hair & styling. So sad and thankful I have no daughters!

I have to have everything ice cold or I cant drink it! Funny how all surgeons are different. I could have ice chips in the hospktal right after surgery! It helped tons!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
