I was told lifting restrictions weeks 1 and 2 is no more than 15lbs and weeks 3 and 4 30lbs. But always check with your doctor first.

As everyone else, I too had lifting weight restrictions but mainly the first few weeks post-op. My biggest issue was the fear of not being able to lift my baby. I was a single parent at the time due to my husband being deployed and I went thru quite the predicament with the lifting restriction. Broke down in tears a couple of times too. Luckily, my surgeon allowed me to carry/lift my baby anytime as long as she would be on my chest and shoulders rather than my stomach or hips. I think, you will be fine as long as the kids don't jump on you, don't climb on you and such. You'll still be able to cook for them.

I was just cleared yesterday to lift over ten lbs. for a month postop I was restricted to 10lbs or less. Which was tough bc I have a 2.5 yo! My parent have stayed with me all month to help with me and elli. I recommend help! There were times that I just feel completely asleep! It wasn't until week 4 that I really got my energy back and stopped napping during the day. Best of luck!

I am a single mom with a now 9 year old son. I had a 3 night hospital stay then stayed with my parents for 3 nights. Went home with my 8 year old on day 7. Cooking was not a problem although I certainly didn't do anything fancy!! I had a 10 pound weight restriction for 6 weeks. My son carried the laundry basket for me but otherwise it was life as usual around our house. There was a time or two I dropped something and he would pick it up for me so momma wouldn't have to bend over. I do recommend doing as much as you can (within reason and within your docs restrictions of course!!!) I honestly thing getting up and taking care of my kiddo and our home, etc is a big part of the reason my recovery was so smooth. This would be TOUGH alone with a young child but as others have proven, it's absolutely possible :) good luck!!!!

It sounds like a fabulous plan! The kids are big enough they can help out as needed so that's fabulous! Connor had a lot of chili and spaghetti those first couple weeks (both of which he loves) then he figured out my puréed bean Soup was good stuff and started stealing my dinner. Whole sore and tired, it really all went off without a hitch. Hope things go as smoothly for you!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
