coffee can cause ulcers as well...

I asked my doctor about this and he said in small amounts like two cups a day it doesn't. He is a mayo clinic doctor so I trust him. It is when someone is drinking coffee all day long, smoking, or taking Nsaids that could exasperate the propensity for an ulcer. Oh and h pylori bacteria too.

My doctor allows two cups a day. It actually helps me "go".

I've been totally regular since I've reintroduced it as well.

It's helped me too. I drink one cup in the morning with milk no sweetener.

Have you tried Chike Protein coffee flavored? It has 20 grams of Protein. I mix it with Water and three ice cubes blended in my ninja. Better than a frappucino!!

I do the same with the Click. It's like a mocha frappe every day!!!! I'll have to try the Chike. Didn't realize it had more protein.

I've heard the Chike flavors taste good. I have the chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and unflavored from Unjury and they taste horrible! How does the Chike compare in taste to unjury?

I tried the unflavored unjury and your right...it is awful!!

You totally have to disguise the lack of taste in something like Vitamin Water.

I have two, sometimes three cups of Decaf every single day. I was really worried about having to switch to decaf following my surgery but Keurig decaf K-cups are fabulous and I had no trouble at all. coffee is loaded with anti-oxidants and studies have pointed to a number of other health benefits as well.

I'm 21 months post-op, my weight has been stable at 155 for eight months and I have my routine down pretty well at this point. But coffee was my absolute go-to during the entire rapid weight loss portion of my journey and continues to be so to this day. Any time I'm hungry and eating is either not practical or not appropriate, I have a cup of coffee. It's filling, practically calorie free and delicious!

For anyone who might be interested, here are links to just a couple of articles from WebMD regarding coffee. Since coffee is so pervasive in our culture, there are many other very good sources for health information about coffee.

I have only tried the coffee Chike and love it. The vanilla Unjury is ok but I always get queezy after Unjury.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
