Hi all

3 months out and 70 pounds - now help

Was always told no alcohol in 3 months and now I'm drinking wine - no pouch issues but still struggling to eat but wine is fine - will this affect me?

Wine has no nutritional value , I know every dr is different but when we decided to go the surgical route we were agreeing to a whole new way of life...I'm not saying you should never drink , but you don't want to get caught up in drinking or eating things that will lead to other habits in the past... It's best to wait a year in while utilizing your tool ... I know that their are alot of opinions across the board but I know the main things is to get enough Protein in and drink as much Water as possible so as not to get dehydrated ... ;)

I am hoping never to drink alcohol again because of the calories. My colleagues are frustrated by this development but I prefer being in good health. I would much rather drink a Protein Shake than alcohol.

Don't know if I would say that exactly, but I do prefer fitting in smaller and smaller clothes. Lol

One concern I have about alcohol is my decision making when drinking. I have a very low tolerance to alcohol and have always been a cheap date. :-) I tend to eat when I drink and I'm afraid I would eat the too much or the wrong things and have to suffer the consequences (pain, nausea, vomiting). No thank you!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
