Sheri h 18 Posted July 30, 2013 I take the calcium chews in lemon and berry. I was having trouble with the chewable chalky ones - I was getting to hate them! The chewy ones taste just like starburst fruit chews. It's more like a treat than a necessary mineral. Buy several flavors and mix them up so you get variety - yummy! tried these and you are right the lemon are yummy but the chocolate are so gross had to spit it out. so for my Calcium intake I used calcium crystals it is something I can add to my Protein Drinks and unflavored so doesn't change the taste. Crkrjax76 76 Posted July 30, 2013 I'm pre op and am already using Bariactric fusion Multi Vitamins. I suck on them for a while, then chew them. It's not so bad that way. The strawberry seems to have the least after taste. I'm still on an Iron pill, B complex and Vitamin D 1000 IU twice a day. And for now I'm doing calcuim gummies three times a day. LilBoo007 491 Posted July 31, 2013 Most over the counter calcium chews even at GNC are made with Calcium carbonate and not calcium citrate. We RNY patients need the citrate because it is absorbed soo much better. The carbonate even in non RNY people is less absorbent and usually needs to be taken with food. Always but calcium citrate!
