I had my visit with my surgeon today! I'm down 5 pounds from my visit with the nurse coordinator last week! It's been day # 2 without any Diet Coke too! I had been cutting back since my WLS seminar on7/9/13. I used to drink a 2 liter a day! I was driving home from the visit thinking hmmm a diet coke sounds so yummy! I knew I had to just forget about it but it was extremely hard. I figure if I can't make myself have will power now and change my mental state then I shouldn't have the surgery! Hopefully the next couple of months I CAN make the lifestyle changes so I WILL be succesfull!

one 2-liter a day? HA!

i was up to 2 2-liters a day then i quit.

I have to say. after 18 years of nothing but diet coke.. that was the hardest thing to kick so far.

I am 3.5 months clean and some bad days, its hard to not want one.

but im eating better because some bad things i used to eat dont sit well with Water so i dont eat them. I dont like feeling nauseaus.

I used to also drink 2 liter of regular Pepsi a day. It was a very bad habit but now I'm in control & do it occasionally (half a can)but I want to not drink it at all not even when I'm on TOM.

I was a diet pepsi addict .... I drank about 6-7 cans a day and that was the only thing I drank, no coffee, no tea just DP!! After surgery I did not crave it only once in a while. About 6 months post op I took a sip and OMG it tasted like drinking chemicals = yuck !!! After a while you will get use to not drinking so much, at least I did. I have a diet soda every once in a while, maybe about a 1/2 can.

That's all great to hear. That's my fear....not getting my diet Pepsi. It's my addiction so it's good to hear it may not be that bad.

5 days til surg!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
