did anyone gain weight on 6 month diet

Recommended Posts

In the past month I have gained 6 pounds. Not sure how as that would mean I ate an extra 21,000 calories. I ate bad like 2 days while we were at a Water park.

I am on my 6 month diet right now....and I have gone up and down. What I notice is that I am learning all of these things about food, eating, etc......so I seem to have food on the brain 24/7. I have another 50 ish days before my pre-op appointment, and if they weighed me right now I would be up a couple- hoping I can drop 10 in the next 50 days. Good luck to you!! :)

I gained from month 1 to month 2. Then I started tracking intake with My Fitness Pal. I then lost a little (16 lbs) during months 3-6 as I changed habits to reflect more post RNY behavior and diet.

I've maintained my weight for 5 months. Losing a pound here and there then would gain it back. This month I gained 6 lbs over night pretty much after eating bad for a couple of days. I've been good since eating salads and not too much junk

Are you drinking sodas? Retains Water. Definitely need to use a food diary.

Have you seen my mexican caulifloewer cheese Soup? Full of veggies and i lost 30 pounds, ate a batch almost every week.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
