DLCoggin 1,788 Posted July 22, 2013 What you're seeing, or more accurately "not seeing", is the delay between your weight loss and your brain's recognition of a new "body image". Sometimes it can take a while. Lots of folks have noted that friends and family make comments of dramatic changes while they really don't see it so much. Your brain will catch up. In the meantime both scale and non-scale victories will reassure you that you are indeed losing weight. You're gonna love the new you!! 2 ElleG and ArmyOfMe reacted to this

Sparklette 381 Posted July 23, 2013 I've lost almost 100 lbs since my surgery and I still can't see it. I see the numbers, I see the inches, but I can't seem to see the loss on my body. It's very frustrating. All I can see sometimes is how much more I have to lose. I can see it in pictures, but looking in the mirror, I just see fat. And now it's time to talk to my therapist, haha. I'm guessing no one else notices either. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
renee 51 Posted July 23, 2013 I've lost about 26 pounds in the past 3 weeks since surgery. No one notices I do notice that my clothes are looser, my shoes are looser, and my boobs seem smaller, but no one has said anything to me yet.
punkin 20 Posted July 23, 2013 I have only lost 14 lbs since my surgery. I will be a month post op on Thursday. I am feeling very frustrated. I came home from the hospital at 324. I'm at 306 this morning. I lost more on the 2 week liquid diet per-op than I have in a month after. Depressing.

ArmyOfMe 82 Posted July 23, 2013 I'm having the same issue. All I see in the mirror is piles of fat and lots of cellulite. Grateful for losing so much weight but wish I could see it. Could be so much worse, right?

kristy3k 1,133 Posted July 23, 2013 It was 60 lbs before people started to notice on me. The closer you get to goal weight the more people will notice the 5 lb loses. It's frustrating but patience is key
