Eating somethings I'm not supposed to

Recommended Posts

So even though my diet consists of all Protein and has been since 1/29 since surgery. The past couple of weeks I have not been on course. I have been eating less than the serving size of Cheezits. I have an appt with my dr on the 30th and I should be at more than 75% of my weight loss and start incorporating fruits and veggies. I am just so bored with my diet. I eat all meats, cheese, beef Jerky, Greek yogurt, nuts, etc. I'm so bored. Any suggestions of what I can eat?

Do you like to cook? Maybe if you experiment with new recipes you might get more interested in your food. I have the "Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery" cookbook and although I've only made one thing from it (I'm only 3 weeks out) everything looks really good. Best wishes to you.

I had my surgery on the same day! My Dr has had me on a regular diet ( mostly I can eat what ever I want , weather I can tolerate it is another story). The problem I'm having is I'm falling back into my old habits, eating when I'm not hungry, I'm so scared to get on the scale, I haven't gained any weight back, but I'm terrified what will happen if I do , sorry this is about you, can you eat lettuce? When I was tired of the all Protein just being able to add lettuce, to have a crunch that was a fresh taste, I eat chef salads at least 3x a week. It has lots of protein , with the hard boiled eggs & Turkey, ham & Swiss( I use low sodium cold cuts) with low calorie dressing . Hop this is a little help. Hang in there Peace, Mary

I just wish I can have lettuce or some type of veggies. Not yet though. When I want something to crunch I eat nuts. I should be able to introduce veggies on the 30 th.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
