Today I completed my first race called warrior dash. Let me tell you I'm an introvert and I think I am slowly come out if that and I really am beginning to feel fearless towards what others think of me. I did this race I climbed over hurdles under bob wire in the mud pit slid down a man mad Water slide over the end if the slide to a mud slide I climbed a rope over the wall I trekked through the forest past a golf course upshot steep ski hills walk the plank climb a man made climbing wall jumped fire and fell trying to throw mud at my husband at the finish line and guess what I was not fast I walked most of it and I survived 5 k of steep hills and all the above. Last year before surgery I was so shy I wouldn't even walk in the mall I always felt people where watching me and judging . Today I could careless I am me and I love me. Last year I could hardly walk for two inured with out pain in my feet.today I can walk and not get tired. 101lbs gone forever and I am thankful for my ryn as it has given me my life back but better and no worried. Whoop whoop I i survived . I enjoy my life and I enjoy being me. Pictures are in my photos of today . Thank you for your support everyone . You people are wonderful

Isn't it a great feeling!!! I love my new life to. Everyday I am lucky to be alive! I am working towards life dreams and making them come true. Tonight as I was working I drove past the hospital that did my surgery. I remembered what it was like those first few days, weeks and months. The feeling of regret for doing this to my body. I sit here today loving every minute of it. I even got a high five from a handsome guy who noticed my weight loss today.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
