attractpositive 12 Posted August 9, 2013 I had surgery yesterday. I'm sitting in my hospital room doing ok. Just having pain under my ribs like pulled muscles. Had a few cases of the hiccups. That hurt a little. Haven't been up to walk yet but I will be soon. They brought me Decaf hot tea and unsweetened iced tea and chicken broth for breakfast... Not to sure about the chicken broth just yet. Hmmmm.... 1 cynthia f reacted to this

Been taking in liquids or broths every 30 minutes and such but pain still in left side by ribs still sucks. How are you doing with pain so far?

Been taking in liquids or broths every 30 minutes and such but pain still in left side by ribs still sucks. How are you doing with pain so far? Was your surgery laparoscopic? If so, the left side incision is the one most used by surgeons. My mom works in the OR. That site will be the sorest the longest, but it won't last more than a week or two. It all depends on how much manipulation your surgeon did. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

That's nice and wow applesauce and oatmeal already? My dr said full liquids for a full week then puréed. I'd kill for some applesauce right now lol

And yeah that's what I was told, and thank god it's only a week or two lol it goes all the way around to my back around the same area. 1 cynthia f reacted to this
