MrsJB 0 Posted July 16, 2013 Hey everyone! I'm a little over 2-months post op and am wondering about scars (prob should have wondered earlier, lol)! I had my gallbladder out a couple of years ago and I find the visible scar to be similar to the ones I have post RNY and that one healed pretty well. I don't remember how long it took for the "red, angry" look of my gallbladder scar to go away but my RNY scars still look pretty GRRRRR! , not to mention the one from my JP drain. Is it too late to try something like Moderna (sp?) or Vitamin e caplets? I don't want to spend money on Moderna bc I hear it's pretty expensive if it's too late to help I appreciate your opinions!!! Jeepchick42 193 Posted July 16, 2013 I think your thinking of mederma. And yes it works. Neosporin also makes a scar treatment. You can start using it at anytime and it will take the redness out quicker. It'll also make them way less visible. I had surgery on my ankle twice and the surgeon went over the old scar the second time. Needless to say it was awful. I found mederma like six months after surgery and it definitely helped. I guess it's to be expected that they're still red 2 months out but I didn't know if it was too late to start the process. Thank you!!!!
