Never thought I would say this....I'm tired of eating.

Recommended Posts

Every once in awhile a want a bite if something that might taste good...but the process of "eating" is not enjoyable. I eat 3 times a day. I am getting my Protein & Water (but not enough calories?) I will, for example, make myself eat 3-4 oz of fish but I can't eat anything after that.

A lot of the time, after I eat, I just feel yucky.

I just drank a Protein shake for Breakfast and I can tell you I felt better with an empty stomach!

I have never dumped but I keep a close eye in sugar.

Me too... I dont think about eating anymore so either my family has to remind me that its meal time..or I happen to look at the clock.... (who knew that could happen to me? LOL)

and when I do eat I lose all interest in a few bites.... even when it's my favorite foods!

I do drink all the time (water, crystal light) and I do use Protein Drinks so I am getting all my requirements in....just such a task to have to eat!

I went out of my way to buy and prepare enticing recipes with the finest healthy ingredients...it helped me get my tastebuds back in order. I didn't want to eat when I was eating boring, bland food at every meal.

I also eat at the same time everyday; 7,11, and five with a small snack of berries, greek yogurt, and Protein powder at night.

Yep..totally there. Not wanting to really eat..just do it cause I have to. It's about along the same lines as brushing my teeth of shaving my legs...cause I have to :) there's nothing really enjoyable about eating anymore.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
