Just give them a call. Explain your situation and that you know there is a morning class and is there anyway to change times. Explain if not' date=' no big deal but you thought you would try. I have had to change times before and they are accommodating if there is room. That's all you can do is ask.[/quote']

How far do you have to drive?

20 minutes.. We live in Liverpool. We hired a nanny for after surgery to help out with our daughter who is 11, but has Autism and help out with general house tasks and such. Also just ordered 2 lay flat power recliners with heat and massage to sleep in after surgery because I have heard from too many people that it is horrible trying to get out of bed! This is my first surgery ever so I'm nervous, but my wife has had her appendix out and gallbladder so she says it's a piece of cake lol. I'm still very nervous

Sounds like you have a plan :) I have had my gall bladder out and a discectomy, removing my L4-L5 disk in my back. I agree, getting out of bed after a surgery can be difficult. My back surgery was a breeze, gall bladder was not so much. My couch/recliner will become my best friend. In order to heal we must move through the pain. After a couple of days you should feel much better and moving around better. I am hopeful. My children, 14 and 15 will be going camping with family for a few days and wont be home until 5 days after surgery. Their ages are one of the reasons why I am so ready. I want to enjoy my girls and they are old enough to understand. I am an occupational therapist who works with many autistic kids. It was good you thought ahead and hats off to you, for putting you first :) We cannot be the best mommies we can be if we don't take care of ourselves. I will also be in Syracuse on the 26th for an 11:15 and 2:00 appointment. I am having my Clearance physical done with my regular doctor here. Enjoy your night! Congrats again :)

Thank you very much for those kind words! Our daughter has had OT since she was in early intervention. She started at 15 months. She gets OT, PT, APE, and speech all 3 times a week, and 12 month programming. She's also in a special program at BOCES called the Stellata program (deals with children with Autism and behavioral challenges). She has attempted many times to he mainstreamed and several districts failed miserably. I truly believe they lacked either the knowledge, or patience to work with her. There has been many, many struggles and in order to keep fighting this battle with her, and for her we indeed need to be healthy. She is so innocent that when we tried to explain to her what was going on and that we were having surgery, se thought it was a play place and she wanted to go and play with surgery too! It was then that I choked on my words, and realized she hadn't a clue as to how to comprehend what I was saying and figuring out what we're going to tell her as to why were gone for 2-3 days is beyond me. I'm sad to say but I think I need the school to make a social story for her because its very seldom that I'm lost for words when it comes to explaining things to her but this situation I am.

ok I'm so sorry for rambling. I just get so excited when I get to chat with another adult that knows and understands our daughter.. Have a wonderful night and fee free to message me anytime.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
