deaddemmama 474 Posted July 14, 2013 I'm wondering how everone's doing on potassium. I'm low on mfp everyday, even if I eat 1/2 banana. My potassium bottomed out after an albuteral treatment awhile back...never want that to happen again!

padlrd 183 Posted July 14, 2013 My cardiac dr put me on potassium it's nasty at first but you get use to it so much better then having it thru IV it burns so bad and when they slow it down so it doesn't takes forever you have to drink the ones he gave me its a tablet you did love in Water
padlrd 183 Posted July 14, 2013 And even with taking that everyday I still don't hit what MFP levels says it should be but I do blood work every 6 weeks to check and potassium levels are good

shershrinking 53 Posted July 14, 2013 The drink is so much better I had that too. It was the IV that burned so badly for sure. IV potassium does burn! I always slow down the potassium and run extra iv Fluid on the side with it so it doesnt burn - it takes longer but the iv site doesnt burn then. (its really the only way to get it in without burning or adding lidocaine, which isnt done in california)
