I haven't found any good Protein powder. I'm sticking to the ready to drink for everyday use. I did however make protein Popsicles out of the powder that are really good. Only the chocolate have been good so far. I tried the vanilla for Popsicles and they have a whey smell/taste. Yuk.

Some peoples tastes will change after surgery. But mine did not. I drink matrix mint cookie by Syntrax, i also use big train fit frappes. When I'm on the road which is allot i drink lite choc muscle milk.

I only use Unjury Protein powder, it does not taste bad at all. They have chocolate, vanilla, strawberry sorbet, chicken Soup and unflavored. The only one I did not buy a container for is the chicken soup, the rest I've gone through several containers. The strawberry sorbet I mix with lemonade, the rest with milk. They have many ideas of how to mix, I stick to milk and occasionally frozen fruit for the unflavored one. I highly recommend it. You do have to buy online.

I would suggest u buy sample packets until u find a brand/ flavor u like. Try mixing w crystal light (favors) or milk. Best Wishes ;)

What I've learned is to focus on vanilla the most. Try and drink it without any bells and whistles added. You'll learn to like it that way. Focus more on throwing a twist on the food you eat.

But you do need to find a really good shake you like. I had to stop buying and wasting my money on the Foo-Foo flavors and also invest a little more money into a good tasting brand of shake.

When I went cheap the drink tasted cheap.

I use unflavored because I'm not a sweet fan. I can mix it in Vitamin Water, Soup, yogurt, whatever. I don't like the artificial flavors of the powders, but sometimes I'll add vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon to an eas advantage vanilla shake for a snack.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
