sunshinetari 1 Posted July 29, 2013 Hi Everyone. I am new here. I had my RNY (revised from lap band) on the 22nd. I have lost 6lbs this week and a total of 21 from my pre-op diet. So far I feel like im healing ok. No major pain, no major nausea or issues, however I am not able to get in my liquids and Protein. I bought powder and a few pre-made drinks and the sweet taste kills me. I refuse to drink it and Water has been hard. yesterday finally I had peppermint tea and I was able to drink that fine and skim milk. Today I experimented and liquified some canned tuna with chicken broth just to get protein and it was just fine. no issues. so thought I am only able to have an oz or 2 at a time, I am working with that and the milk and the tea. Im have weird gas and need to have a BM (sorry tmi) but no luck yet. Im glad I found this page! Everyone seems to be doing fantastic! 1 airforcewife08 reacted to this
KatiesNewLeaf 3 Posted July 29, 2013 Ugh I think I'm having the same problem as all of you. I feel sick no matter what I take in; Water included. I just keep telling myself it will eventually pass. I just hate feeling carsick all the time.

I am eating scrambled egg @ grits for Breakfast and for lunch and supper I have canned chicken, green Beans and instant potatoes. I have sugar free pudding as a snack which goes down very well. Eliza jo 4 Posted July 29, 2013 Hi Everyone!! I had my RNY on the 23rd revised from the lap band. The surgery took a little longer because of the scar tissue around the band. I feel pretty good and trying to get the walking in and the pain seems less with the walking. I have not had anything but Clear Liquids and looking forward to having the pureed foods. I made chicken today and pureed them and froze them in ice cube trays. I am making the veggies tomorrow so I have everything ready for the next step. I cant wait to have something red, that must sound weird but it seems that red is in a lot of drink mixes. I got home Friday afternoon and I have not weighed myself the doctor said that the gas and the iv would make my weight a little higher so I will wait until my first pre-op on Friday. I can't wait to sleep on my stomach again..... 2 airforcewife08 and sunshinetari reacted to this
caleksa 48 Posted July 29, 2013 I was wondering if anyone has been experiencing any Hibernation Syndrome symptoms? I am 4 weeks post op tomorrow and I am exhausted. Eating is going great, weight loss has been amazing and no pain BUT I am so tired all the time. I am consuming between 500-800 calories a day, getting all my fluids and Protein. Oh and all my Vitamins too.

I was thinking it was depression, but I have not been crying, I just feel bleh. I went shopping yesterday with a girlfriend and had no desire to try anything on due to how tired I was.. At least I was a cheap trip! I keep wondering if its a combination of still healing and lack of calories or if there really is something wrong with me. It's strange how my energy level differs from day to day....
KatiesNewLeaf 3 Posted July 29, 2013 I think the lack of motivation this far out is normal because I feel it too and I'm at about three weeks post op. I have also been dealing with a lot of anxiety attacks which I thought was weird because I've never had them before. My doctor said it was all normal and to be expected with a big change like this. So the up side is we are all normal; not that that makes it any easier to deal with lol. 1 McLynz reacted to this
graceann0888 145 Posted July 29, 2013 Good news to those of you feeling exhausted! I had my surgery in June on the 19th and felt the same way! But between week 4-5 It's like I woke up and had all my energy back! I was starting to get worried that I would feel that way forever. It was crazy! I would take a shower and try to blow dry my hair and think okay..now I need a nap! Lol. It gets better I promise! 5 McLynz, elli'smommy, jetson and 2 others reacted to this
BowlingHooker 60 Posted July 29, 2013 It's so hard adjusting to eating very little then knowing when we are full. I've had two encounters with feeling over full but this morning my breakfast came back up. I had a late snack late yesterday and it seem to have stayed with me. Taking this one day at a time to learn my new pouch. I had my RNY 7/16/13 Me 2 - July 16!!!!!
mitzie46 116 Posted July 29, 2013 I'm 6 days post op and keep feeling nauseous is there anything to help? I'm on clear liquids and take phenergan when I can't stand it but it knocks me out for hours and then I don't drink? Any suggestions? This is really bumming me out. Charda 14 Posted July 29, 2013 So I’m 2 week post op an me a purred food are not in sync with each other....Really it’s the purred meats that I’m having the most trouble with. It's like they hurt when they go down after a while... I think tonight I’m going to try a little Soup with some chicken in it to maybe see how that works. Maybe it's not moist enough...Anyone else have these problems????
