I'm doing great. Got 60 grams of Protein in already today and I still have to eat dinner. I took my daughter over to my parents house for a bit and both my parents commented that my face looks thinner already. Woo hoo :)

I'm officially one week postop today! I'm feeling pretty good other than a stabbing pain in my bottom left abdomen that I can't seem to shake. I'm not getting all my fluids and Protein in yet but I've gotten more in today than I have yet. Emotionally I'm poor to fair; physically I think I'm doing pretty darn good! My post op follow up is not until 8/1. But I am seeing my pcp next Tuesday bc I haven't taken insulin since I left the hospital except the first night and my BS dropped to 45. No more insulin already!! :-). So I continue to walk, sip, nibble and nap. I do feel like I'm more than able to handle puréed foods already. But they have me on the full liquid diet for 4 weeks! I'm sick of cream of wheat and applesauce! :-).

I am doing very well. I feel great and am super excited to start each day. However, come 7:00 every night I am beyond exhausted and very sore. How long does the stomach muscle soreness last? I am 10 days post op. I am also taking Calcium supplements in the powder form and I am really struggling to get the required amount down everyday. What is everyone else taking for calcium?

Best of luck and glad your feeling so great! I too am still struggling w lower left abdomen pains. When was ur surgery?

On post op day 10. Feeling great. Actually walked exactly one mile outside today in 29 minutes. Might not seem like alot but it was a great feeling for me. Going to do a repeat tomorrow and hopefully every other day too. No problems getting in between 66-72 grams of Protein every day. Down about 21 pounds according to my home scale. Loving life :)

I am 10 days post op and I have felt really good today. I hope that means its getting easier I don't get to start real food until Monday. Two weeks only on liquids has been hard and I don't have a lot of energy. I am losing weight so I am super happy about that!!!

Doing great! Had surgery on July 10th. No issues at all. Hospitsl staff were amazed on how well I did. I want say thanks to all of those that post...all the info here has been educating me on dos and donts. One thing I realized is that room temp Water is best for me. Cold bothers a bit going down.. ;)

I am 2 weeks post op tomorrow and I think I am doing great. I started the purée diet last week and found it too yucky for words so I have been just chewing everything until its mush. I am being very careful to stick to the list of foods I am allowed just skipping the blender. So far, so good. I feel great and am losing between .5 and 1lb a day. My husband and I went out on a date Friday night and ended the evening with a 2 oz cup of sugar free frozen yogurt! It was delicious! The only issue I am having is muscle soreness at one of my incision sights.

4 days post op for me and I feel great. I have no pain at all. Headache occasionally and tired a lot but otherwise a very successful surgery.

Hey Pittguy! So I'm now 12 days postop and feeling really great! I will say I still have some minor nagging pain in my lower left abdomen muscle (prob where they had to manhandle my lap band out) and, of course, my energy is not 100% but I'm doing well. I feel best in the morning so that when I try to get everything done so wear myself out. Usually by 3pm my shot for a couple hours but I never recoup the same momentum I have in the mornings. I'm sure at some point this will get better. For now I'm doing my best to get three Protein shakes, all the fluids, the Vitamins and 3 2oz meals in a day. I'm usually about missing one shake and about 20oz of Fluid....but I'm getting there. I'm walking about 1.5 miles throughout the day (not at once). In the first 10 days after surgery I've lost 15lbs! So I'm pleased and pray that I maintain the momentum and continue to gain energy :-).

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
