When people ask you how much weight you have lost so far do you guys go from your highest weight' date=' or from the day you came home from the hospital?[/quote']

I'm counting from my highest weight in Feb. it's all part of the journey.

How many calories are you eating a day

I've been getting around 500 most days. I don't think It's enough, but my approved foods don't have a ton of calories.

My surgery was 9-3 and I was instructed to eat 900 calories. I'm suppose to stay there until 6 months post op them it can go up to 1200 or near there to maintain. I would check with your doctor though

Start weight 224, Surgery weight 205, Current weight 199

I get about 400-500... I didn't know if that was the norm. I've also only lost one pound this week.

I think once we're about a month out, we're supposed to be getting around 800. My drs diet is pretty strict. It's all meat and dairy and only carbs from veggies, so It's been hard to get over 600 calories. I'm convinced my body will eventually go into starvation mode and it will hold onto everything I put in my mouth lol...that's what I'm afraid of at least!

I had my surgery Sept 26. Was doing well until recently. I feel weak and tired. Any one else feeling that

I had surgery Sept 16th, and this last week has been brutal with being tired and having ZERO energy. I have napped almost everyday and my husband is making fun of me. I do not like to sleep, I feel like sleep is a waste of time, so for me to nap is completely irregular.

So, today I stayed awake all day and made sure I took in 70-grams of Protein and 64-oz of Water, but don't really feel any different.

I have not started exercising though since surgery. I have a terrible back-ache and it hurts to much to exercise. I have never had back problems, so I am unsure what this is all about.

Tomorrow, I am 4-weeks Post op and I don't want to stall, so hopefully this will pass.

Im glad others are having this problem bc it must be a normal body plateau but its still discouraging.

Anyone started exercising?

I've started jogging...once or twice a week lol. Not a lot of energy :/ I stalled(actually gained some) for almost two wks which was depressing as hell, but suddenly the past three days, I dropped two lbs per day! I didn't change anything and it wasn't that time of the month so idk what's up with that

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
