MeShellRene 3 Posted September 6, 2013 I'm three days post op and get to go home this afternoon! The pain wasn't bad my only complaint was a constant headache that we really couldn't get under control.

SueC1 27 Posted September 6, 2013 I'm three days post op and get to go home this afternoon! The pain wasn't bad my only complaint was a constant headache that we really couldn't get under control. Good for you! My surgery was Tuesday and I came home yesterday. Like you the pain from the surgery wasn't bad either nor was the gas. What I did have was major low back pain. Laying flat for nearly 6 hours made my back go into a frenzy. I couldn't concentrate on nothing but the pain from my back after surgery. It is starting to go away from being home. The good news is I'm no longer on high blood pressure medicine. I am also not taking my diabetes meds as that has been controlled right now. I have to keep checking it though and need to discuss with my primary doctor. Hooray!!!

shershrinking 53 Posted September 7, 2013 Oh wow. That's a lot to wake up to. How are you feeling? Correction. No hernia. Just cutting away of adhesions - inteatine to stomach and pancreas, etc PACU nurse was misinformed. I am home recovering well.as of thursday. Already drove and shopped today. Belly so bruised but doesnt hurt & i cant eat much. Maybe this will help me lose another twenty pounds? Although when i got home the scale said i gained 10 pounds (water weight, the bruising, edema to tummy). I am passing gas and looking forward to the REAL RNY surgery which should stomp out my diabetes. But that will mean referral to another doc at Stanford i guess. Good news is my hospital should still pay for it. But i think i have to pay for the last surgery with my insurance & then some. Oh well So my initial planned RNY in May surgery that turned into June, then delayed by insurance issue til July, finally to do in september? Well now i bet we dont get it done til at least November. But i am in good spirits.
hybridme 4 Posted September 7, 2013 So today was my surgery and everything has gone well so far! When I first woke up, I felt like I had been hit by a train. But they started me walking after one hour and the pain is tolerable. Have gas pains in my chest and shoulder, but otherwise they say I'm doing very well. I have four incisions. It's taken a year to get here but I'm so happy to now be on the losers bench. Good luck to everyone having their surgeries in the coming weeks! 3 ShineBright724, Amanda R and stitchergirl88 reacted to this

MeShellRene 3 Posted September 8, 2013 Any post opers having dreams about eating food? Taking huge bites and realizing you shouldn't and waiting for the pain? Seems like after this surgery the min my head hits the pillow I'm out and dreaming already.
stitchergirl88 24 Posted September 8, 2013 I am in the pre-op liquid diet and I dreamed last night that I kept eating real food bc I kept forgetting. This compulsive eating dream is common for me when I have dieted in the past. I went a couple years without soda and I use to dream of guzzling soda and then freaking out about it.
