nursie026 36 Posted July 4, 2013 This is to tough.. I'm beginning to feel as maybe I am in over my head. The rate I'm going I will be one of those that regain weight after surgery. I was horrible today.. 2 chocolate chip Cookies and a ice cream sundae. What is wrong with me?!?? I'm tired of making excuses if thinking my pouch is malfunctioning.. I simply need a support group here in Pittsburgh. I have an addiction with sweets and goods.. Now that I am comfortable and at goal weight. My mind has taken A total turn in believing my pouch can handle anything.. So far it has. I'm down and worried.. Does anyone know of any support groups in Pittsburgh? I have to get a grip on this eating.. I feel like I'm fat all over again..
TinyMamiOf3kids 1,280 Posted July 4, 2013 No dumping? Was it sugar free ice cream? I don't live near you but try searching on line for a support group in your area. If its a one time thing or your gonna get your Tom like me I usually eat chocolate for about a week during that time. Best of luck to you & think positive girl you got this. 1 nursie026 reacted to this

TinyMamiOf3kids 1,280 Posted July 4, 2013 Join my fitness pal I'm there under same name as here I know it's hard trust me but like you I'm afraid of gaining that it most likely keeps me away from too much fried food & such. I barely eat ice cream plus I wasn't a sweet person but I think fruit is just as sweet. You can buy strawberry mangoes banana apples & all those delicious fruits. I'm sticking up Sunday. I go food shopping so buying lots of fruits & searching for sugar free whip cream I love that stuff 1 nursie026 reacted to this

I've been mixing sugar free choc pudding with sugar free cool whip. I also love fresh fruit such as strawberries sliced sprinkled with a pack of Splenda and sugar free cool whip. Decadent enough to help. U got this!!! 1 nursie026 reacted to this
DiminishingDawn 50 Posted July 4, 2013 Go to obesityhelp.com to the state boards and ask there. A support group is a great thing. See if you can find different substitutes trading something healthier for Cookies etc. go for Protein instead. Keep it out of the house especially if it is a trigger food for you. Look into therapy or any supports you have. You may be a binge eater. Many communities have overeaters anonymous. Hang in there and hugs. The key is to get Back on track as quick as you can. You will fall down on occasion. Get back on program right away. Do not let a mistake become a pattern. Dawn :-). 1 nursie026 reacted to this
shershrinking 53 Posted July 4, 2013 I feel so bad for you and me too. I love sweets, grew up with cake and Cookies and ice cream every day. Today i broke my diet, had whopper and fries with diet coke and then to McD for a dipped cone! I am preop and lost 30 pounds following the Mediterranean diet. No white bread- whole grains only (sprouted whole wheat/california Protein recommended) (i try to avoid bread completely-its addictive for me, plus i put too much butter on) I cook with olive oil or grapeseed oil. Tons of veggies, and I eat two servings of fruit and 4 servings protein per day. 1 cup of blueberries equals one fruit. 2 cups watermelon equals one fruit. Thats lots of sweet- About a tablespoon of nuts per day, and 1/2 cup root vegetable (carrot or sweet potato) and maybe 1/4 cup Beans. Eat red meat only once a month. . For chocolate emergencies i get Russell Stovers sugarfree candies, ( english toffee and Peanut Butter cups are my favorite, but 3 will get my sugar up about 100 points. ) I still lost 30 pounds ! But i did feel so much healthier on that diet. especially avoiding bread. Waiting for insurance to approve my RNY. It better come soon, im a cheating fool. 250# and waiting... terry1118 1,274 Posted July 4, 2013 Reach out to your surgeon maybe he/she can recommend a support group in your area... Best Wishes. If you can't find a support group perhaps your surgeon can put you in touch with other people who've also had the surgery. Getting together and talking with someone might help. Maybe you could even start your own group!

futuremrsparker 288 Posted July 4, 2013 Is this for post-op patients? How do I register? I need the support too Yes, it is for post ops... I don't know. I work at Magee. I will look on our online database and find out if registration is needed or if you just "show up" and let you know! 1 Fairyluver75 reacted to this
