Kimber-lilly 2 Posted August 24, 2004 Hi all! You all know how excited I am to be banded on Sept 2--I am the blender queen this week in preparation and I guess, practice for post op too! Just blabbing ! Kimberly

Iluvharleys 15 Posted August 24, 2004 It will be here before you know it. Did the Doctor put you on a liquid diet before the surgery? Keep us posted on how you are doing. I am hoping I am not too far behind you. Betty
Janie Jackson 0 Posted August 24, 2004 The liquid phase before surgery is harder than after surgery...But time will pass quickly...Best wished...Janie
Kimber-lilly 2 Posted August 30, 2004 Today is day 5 of my pre-op full liquid diet--I swear to God, I am starving! I could eat the whole house--or even my child if he didn't keep outrunning me (just wait, you little bugger!)--half joking, half serious! Is this what it's like afterward? I keep thinking, hmmmmm, if no one sees me eat it, it didn't happen, right? Um no...... Very stressed about this today and wondering about anyone else's experience !!!! New Hope 37 Posted August 30, 2004 Run, little Hansel and Gretel, Run!!! Hang in there, girl. You can do it!
Kimber-lilly 2 Posted August 30, 2004 You are funny!! Thanks for the giggle. I have to go to class now--ugh--1.5 hours of sheeeeeeer boredom with a teacher who has a high sort of falsetto voice. Makes me crazy! I must be grumpier without food! going to ignore the fact that across from the school is heaven on earth--Dairy Queen! oh, bad day, bad day! Only have to live like this until Thursday--then I get my band and this will all make sense, right? Kimberlilly
nightingale2u 42 Posted August 30, 2004 Hang in there Kimberly... we are all routing for you to have an uneventful surgery and a quick recovery... Everyone is wishing you well over on the "support" board... go take a look... maybe that will help you feel better! I'm so excited for you!!!! Darcy
New Hope 37 Posted August 30, 2004 Get you a good book to read, like "The Notebook". Watch minimal t.v. I got so sick of seeing food commercials on t.v. every time it was on! AAHHH!!
woodkd 0 Posted August 30, 2004 Hi, How exciting, I can relate I'm getting banded tomorrow!! I can't believe it's actually here. I hope you have great success!!!! Debbie
leatha_g 4 Posted August 30, 2004 No one ever died on the pre-op liquid diet. lol. It's tough, I know, but it'll be no time before you are banded and asking questions about why you have no restriction right out of the box. This too shall pass... :-) Stay away from the DQ - it is NOT your friend. Leatha
Kimber-lilly 2 Posted August 30, 2004 I am home again--avoided the DQ--went to Kmart and bought slimfast, Protein powder, chewable Vitamins, --you guys know--the works! Thanks to you all for all your kind words of encouragement! I had a little chat with myself while I was out and am much better now!!!!!!!
La_madam 20 Posted August 30, 2004 The pre op liquid diet is so much harder thenthe post op diet. I had the biggest fears that I would not make it through the post op liquid phase, but with all the swelling and gas you are not even hungry. It is the strangest thing Hunger for me kicked in week 3..hang in there you will do great, after the post op liquid phase is gone you will be wondering why you worrried so much about it. You will see that your hunger is virtually gone right after surgery for the first week Good Luck
New Hope 37 Posted August 31, 2004 Debbie, Best of luck to you tomorrow on your banding! You'll do great! Just be kind to yourself and take it easy. Please keep us posted.
