Cici22 27 Posted June 26, 2013 My doctor referred me to Gastric Bypass op, I went today to the info meeting, and I'm completing the rest of the steps shortly, I am excited but scare, I have mix feelings about these whole thing. I know is going to be hard but, am I going to make it? I am starting a test run on my own to do a week of liquid diet on my own, see how it goes I know it will be completely different once I have my op, but I just want to give it a shot. tlynn4love 48 Posted June 26, 2013 The more research you do, the less scared you'll be As for liquid diet the first two days are the hardest, once you get past those the rest are much easier (atleast that was my experience) you got this!! 1 Tammy wright reacted to this
worm2872 635 Posted June 26, 2013 Yes research, research, research!!! I have never even had any surgeries but the more I knew the easier it was. You knew what to expect. You can do this. I am a HUGE chicken and I made it. Some days the road is not easy or down right nasty but it is great overall. This is a great place to be and was a life savor for me. Good luck to you. Oh and by the way, not all Dr require the pre-op liquid diet. 2 tlynn4love and Cici22 reacted to this
Shannalee 65 Posted June 26, 2013 Congratulations and welcome Like everyone else has mentioned research as much as possible and ask as many questions of us all. We are here to help and this is a good thing. I never had any surgeries before this and was a little scared. The day of surgery I had my best girlfriend with me and she helped keep my mind off the whole process. The hardest part is before the surgery because you don't have restrictions and technically can eat anything. Afterwards is when the work begins but your new tummy tells you what it likes and doesn't like. I recommend picking up the book, "Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies." It was a great start and it still helps me when I need to look back. Join My Fitness Pal and start tracking what you are eating (of course I haven't been the best with this part ) Just remember you are human and not perfect so little slips here and there will not stop the process. Listen to your doctors and those in the office. They know what they are doing. Also, this is a huge one, try and remember that there will be people around you that might not like what you are about to do. Don't worry about them, they have no idea what it is like and this is your process. Again, welcome and good luck! 2 worm2872 and tlynn4love reacted to this
