What do you wear while losing?

Recommended Posts

Just curious - it looks like most lose a good amount of weight during the first 3 to 6 months. What do you wear? Do you go out and buy multiple sizes of everything, cuz that's expensive as all get out.

My surgery will be towards the middle of August and I"m thinking of just wearing sundresses but then we're getting close to fall/winter so jumper dresses maybe? Something that's transitional that you can wear no matter what weight you are?

I found I can get way more wear out of skirts and dresses then pants, esp dress pants.

I'm not into dresses much, but may need to give them a try. I have fallen out of last summer's clothes and don't want to buy more clothes as I still need expensive plus size clothes that I will soon fall out of. I thought I would be cool wearing big clothes but now that it's happening I want everyone to see it as well!

I decided to wear sundresses all summer. I don't like shorts so besides wearing jeans, skirts and dresses are my only option. I bought a few cheap cotton dresses at Walmart before surgery and I've been living in them ever since.

Luckily I have a sewing machine and basic abilities to take in things. I can only take them in so much of course but it gives me a little longer. If you can find easy to access seams its pretty easy.

Another good idea to avoid expensive clothes like lane giant are places like Ross. I got a dress there over the weekend for $10 and I know I can wear it a while and then take it in too.

I have/had all sizes of clothes from 18 to 8, so when I go down a size I just go shopping in my attic :) For those who don't have smaller sizes I would by tight stretchie type clothes so when you lose they will shrink with you.

I am still in all my old clothes, Most of them have elastic waistbands, so even though I've lost almost 70 lbs since surgery they are still holding on. My shirts, are a little big, but I've found that getting a cute belt and wearing it around the waist makes the over sized clothes a little more flattering.

I also have many sizes. It may get expensive if I get below a sz14, though. The last time I lost a lot of weight (Optifast) I bought elastic waisted slacks at Macy's, for work. I have them in many colors from sz22 down to sz14. You can get a lot of wear out of a stretchy waist, it'll last through two sizes. And dresses work well, too. Thrift stores can be a lifesaver, too. Hand-me-downs from friends and family. At support groups you may make a few contacts willing to share outgrown clothes that you could use and pass on when you no longer need them.

I always have a hard time finding pants..I need at least a 36 inseam. Sometimes being tall is a drag.

I've always hated being short but at least I can have clothes altered. My husband's family is Norwegian so they are all tall ( shortest girl is 5'10"). I'm 4'11" - 5', depends on who's measuring. Both his sisters and his mom have trouble finding slacks with a long inseam.

On the plus side, tall people can gain ten lbs and no one notices. :-)

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
